What a hotel gets you
Simplicity and flexibility. Daily housekeeping, no commitment beyond a few nights at a time if you book that way, and zero setup. The tradeoff is cost per night adds up fast over three or four weeks, and most hotel rooms aren’t built for someone working out of them all day plus cooking.
What a serviced apartment gets you
A kitchen, laundry, more space, and usually a better cost-per-night once you’re staying more than a week or two. The tradeoff is less flexibility if your plans change, and quality varies a lot more than with a known hotel brand, so read recent reviews carefully.

Two to four weeks is the realistic range for most people, assuming you start apartment hunting immediately on arrival rather than after you've settled in. Book with a cancellation-friendly rate if you can, since your actual lease could come through faster or slower than planned.
Is Airbnb allowed for short stays in Singapore?
Private residential properties cannot legally be used for stays under three consecutive months. For a shorter arrival stay, use a hotel or a serviced apartment; URA says hotels have no minimum stay and serviced apartments have a seven-day minimum. Do serviced apartments include utilities and wifi?
